What is kombucha?

Kombucha is a healthy drink with beneficial properties for the immune system and the digestive system, which also provides extra energy and is delicious.

What is Komvida?

Komvida is the most innovative and delicious kombucha on the market. It is a brand created by Nuria and Bea, two young women from Extremadura who produce kombucha in the south of Extremadura, with organic ingredients and a lot of enthusiasm.

Where does this drink come from? What's in it?

Kombucha is an ancient drink that was already drunk by the samurai. It is produced by the natural fermentation of green tea and sugar by a symbiosis of bacteria and yeasts, called Scoby. In the fermentation process, the Scoby eats the sugar and produces bubbles. The result is a healthy and delicious soft drink. Komvida is the improved version of the ancient kombucha recipe. From a small village in Extremadura, we have managed to maintain the benefits of this probiotic drink and turn it into an alternative refreshment for those who know how to take care of themselves. We make it with organic ingredients and bottle it in glass.

Does it have sugar?

Sugar is a necessary ingredient to make kombucha as we have told you before. But that's not all. In the fermentation process that takes place, the Scoby consumes the tea and the sugar almost entirely, resulting in this delicious drink: kombucha.

Thus, the remaining sugar in the kombucha, in the case of Komvidais a minimal residue of around 2-3%. In other words, it is a "residual" sugar and not "added", as we never add sugar after fermentation.

Does it contain caffeine?

Our kombucha is made from organic green tea leaves

As a fermented beverage, the initial level of theine is greatly reduced, leaving only 7 mg per 100 ml as a residue. This is negligible compared to, for example, coffee, which can have up to 180 mg of caffeine per 100 ml.

In conclusion, the residue in Komvida is so minimal that it would only affect you if you were hypersensitive to theine.

Does it contain alcohol?

Kombucha, which is produced in an artisanal way as Komvidacontains traces of alcohol as a result of natural fermentation. The same applies to other fermented products such as sauerkraut, kefir, kimchi, miso... or, to give you a clearer idea, it is a quantity comparable to that of orange juice squeezed in the sun.

This particular alcohol is said to have antiseptic, de-stressing properties and also acts as a natural preservative for kombucha. Oh, and no, it could never get you drunk no matter how many little bottles you drank.

Does it have gas?

The little bubbles it contains Komvida are the result of fermentation and have nothing to do with the gas you find in other commercial soft drinks.

Komvida relieves your feeling of heaviness and bloating, as it contains natural ferments that will help to improve digestion.

So, yes, it has gas, but it is a beneficial gas for your body.

What are the benefits of drinking kombucha?

Komvida is a probiotic drink and by consuming it, millions of micro-organisms are introduced into our body and go directly to the intestine. These good bugs help to improve digestion and replenish the intestinal flora. They also boost the immune system and provide extra energy.

When is it good to drink kombucha?

Any time is a good time to be happy, and that's why you can simply drink when you feel like it. Komvida simply whenever you feel like it. For breakfast, for lunch or to accompany dinner. As a mid-morning snack or to replenish your strength after exercise? Komvida it's the healthy refreshment that's great for you at any time of day, and it's delicious too.

How much can I take per day?

As much as you like. We usually drink one 250ml bottle a day... sometimes two. Or three.

Should I shake it before drinking?

Better not. Komvida It has little bubbles as a result of fermentation. If you shake it, it could spill out, just like champagne! What we do is stir it gently so that the sediment at the bottom mixes with the liquid.

Can I take it if I am pregnant?

There are many women who consume kombucha during pregnancy and while breastfeeding; Nuria and Bea, our founders, included! And it has always been great for them.

However, we recommend that you consult your doctor, who is the best person to advise you.

In any case, here are some facts to give you all the information you need to decide whether you want to take it or not:

We make Komvida from the initial ingredients: water, organic green tea, organic sugar, Scoby (a symbiosis of bacteria and yeast) and organic fruits.

At the end of the fermentation process there is hardly any theine left, the amount of sugar is reduced to 2-3% and it has traces of alcohol as a result of the natural fermentation (but beware! it would not be considered an alcoholic beverage at all). Komvida is an unpasteurised kombucha, which means that it retains all its probiotic properties.

Can I give it to a child under 5 years old?

Many children drink kombucha. It is a healthy alternative to sugary and carbonated soft drinks. However, if you have any doubts, we recommend that you consult a paediatrician, who is best placed to advise you.

Does Komvida always have to be cold?

Yes, it is. It is very important that you keep your Komvidas in the fridge because, being a fermented and unpasteurised product, the heat could reactivate the fermentation and alter the taste. Does this mean that if it is not cold it could be bad for the organism? No, no, far from it! But it is a pity that, as good as it is, its taste is altered. Komvidait would spoil the taste. So: always in the fridge! We make sure that the cold chain is not broken at any time, that's why we send it to your home in refrigerated transport so that it stays intact.

How long does a Komvida last in the fridge?

No rush! A Komvida unopened lasts until 1 yearIf stored in the refrigerator. Once opened, we recommend drink it in 7 days.
