At Komvida we are very aware of the importance of good habits and a good diet to keep us healthy. Kombucha, as you know, can help you take care of your microbiota, since it has a series of microorganisms known as probiotics that do a great job in our intestine, helping to repopulate our intestinal flora and make better digestion and strengthening our immune system.

But it is also important to consume it as part of a balanced and healthy diet. Today we tell you a curiosity that you probably don't know about resistant starch that will help you feel better.

Aim, aim!

Did you know that it is good to let some foods cool before eating them?

There are foods that if eaten cold (after being cooked) change their composition, which influences your intestinal health.

Why?

We'll tell you ;)

Starch is the only polysaccharide that can be assimilated by the human digestive system. There is a small part that our body cannot process, and that is resistant starch.

Why is this happening?

Because it reaches the end of the intestine and bacteria use it as food, transforming it into fatty acids such as butyrate, thus providing numerous benefits.

There are foods such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, legumes or cereals (such as rice or oats) in which we can find resistant starch.

When starchy foods are heated and then allowed to cool, they change their composition and the starch becomes resistant starch - something our bodies will be very grateful for!

If these foods are in your regular diet, you already know that it is good to let them cool before eating them so that they become resistant starch and your body notices it. Take them with Komvida and keep taking care of your microbiota :)
