Does kombucha contain alcohol?
Kombucha produced in an artisanal way as Komvida, contains traces of alcohol as a result of natural fermentation.
The same applies to other fermented products such as sauerkraut, kefir, kimchi, miso... or, to give you a clearer idea, it is an amount comparable to the amount of orange juice squeezed in the sun. This particular alcohol is said to have antiseptic and de-stressing properties and also acts as a natural preservative for kombucha.
Oh, and no, I could never get you drunk no matter how many little bottles you drank.
Is it an alcoholic beverage? Komvida is not considered an alcoholic beverage, as the percentage of alcohol it contains is much lower than what is required by law. In fact, kombucha is permitted in the Muslim religion, which prohibits alcoholic beverages. It is considered a halal food.
For all these reasons, we can say that Komvida is, in principle, a drink for everyone. However, if you are sensitive to alcohol for any reason, we recommend that you consult your doctor before drinking it.
