Can I take kombucha during pregnancy?

There are many women who consume kombucha during pregnancy and while breastfeeding; Nuria and Bea, our founders, included! And it has always been great for them.

We recommend that you consult your doctor, who can best advise you.

In any case, here are some facts to give you all the information you need to decide whether you want to take it or not:

Komvida is made from the initial ingredients: water, organic green tea, organic sugar, Scoby (a symbiosis of bacteria and yeast) and organic fruit. At the end of the fermentation process, hardly any theine remains and the amount of sugar is reduced to 2-3%, so it is not considered an exciting drink. Moreover, this sugar is a residual sugar and not added, as is the gas, which is the result of fermentation.

Komvida has traces of alcohol as a result of natural fermentation, but it would not be considered an alcoholic beverage at all, as it does not exceed 1.2%. The same applies to other fermented products such as vinegar, kefir or sun-squeezed orange juice.

Komvida is a kombucha with unpasteurized green tea, as this way we get to keep the probiotics that bring us so many benefits. Unlike other unpasteurized foods, Komvida does not come from animal origin, since it is vegan, which avoids some of the pathologies or diseases that can occur by consuming certain unpasteurized foods during pregnancy.

We hope we have helped you!
